Completing the Form

Complete the following steps and click Next to create a custom WestFind&Print page for your intranet:

  1. Consider how many citations you usually retrieve and select the appropriate number of citation text boxes to display.

    • If you usually copy a list of citations from a word-processing file, select One text box for multiple citations.

    • If you typically enter single citations, select One text box for each citation, then select how many text boxes to display, up to 18.

  2. Select each destination where WestFind&Print requests can be sent at your firm.

    • Select Attached Printer if you have printers directly connected to your computers. Then select the check box next to each document format used by your firm (Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect 6, PDF, or HTML).

The HTML option prints documents in dual-column format if you are running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later.

Note: If you are currently using the ATP browser plug-in, the plug-in is not compatible with Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2, Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, or Netscape 6 or later. So if you upgrade to any of these browser versions, you must select another format option (word-processing, PDF, and HTML) to print on an attached printer.

    • Select Download to save your results to a file. Then select the check box next to each document format used by your firm (Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect 6, PDF, HTML, or ASCII).

    • Select Westlaw Printer if you use printers, often supplied by West, that are configured to print Westlaw materials exclusively.

    • Select E-mail to deliver your results to an e-mail address or a wireless device (e.g., phone, Palm, or BlackBerry). Select a document format (Word, WordPerfect 6, PDF, HTML, ASCII, or Inline ASCII) from the corresponding drop-down list. (If results will be delivered to a wireless device, select Inline ASCII.) Then type one or more e-mail addresses in the text box, separated by semicolons.

  3. Select one or more result options check boxes that correspond to the results you want to print.

    • Select the Full-text documents check box to print the full text of all documents.

    • Select the KeyCite Citing References check box to print citing references for your documents.

    • Select the KeyCite History check box to print KeyCite history for your documents.

    • Select National Reporter Images Link to display a Reporter Images option button in the upper left corner of the WestFind&Print page. This option allows you to print a case exactly as it appears in the West reporter using Adobe Acrobat Reader. There is a $10 charge per West reporter image.

  4. Select one or more additional features check boxes.

    • Select the Publications List check box to display a link under the citation text box(es) to the complete list of publications and their abbreviations that can be retrieved using Find on Westlaw. There is no charge to view the Publications List.

    • Select the Find by Party Name check box to display a link under the citation text box(es) to a Find by Party Name template. There is no charge to view this template.

  5. Select an authentication method.
  6. If you require additional information to be printed on your documents, such as the attorney's name or department, type the field to be displayed on the WestFind&Print page, e.g., Type your name, in the text box.
